I'm sure there are many sailors in the Wilmington, NC area. Anyone interested in giving a midwestern sailor a day sail? Family and I will be on Topsail Island last week in July. It really is frustrating sitting on the beach watching the boats sail by on the water and ICW. Would really enjoy a native guide providing a tour/ride in the area. Jay

Problem is...
Topsail is quite a sail/ride from Wilmington, or any other of the nearby inlets that will accomodate sailboats. I suspect most of the boats you see are in transit to/from Beaufort via ocean or ICW. And, Wilmington is not really a big sailing area (I used to live there.) You might try a day trip up to Morehead City/Beaufort or to New Bern/Oriental. Lots of sailboats on the Pamlico and there are folks here on HOW. If I was south this time of yeah, I'd be glad to do it. Good luck.
