Dear Trev,

I recently lost my Albin Vega 27 (#2971) in my way from West Coast to Hawaii.

Looking for replacement.

It seems your boat will fit in.

I would like to buy it without looking it...^^

I will wire the fund to your bank account, but allow me about 10 days to pick-up, and sail back to USA.

Please let me know if you could arrange this temporary 10 days of dock slip there.

I know it sounds a bit strange but I feel this is the way to go.

I am currently staying here in Las Vegas.

Thanks,

Simon Elvee Lee

Wow Simon,
How did you lose your Vega at sea? How were you rescued?

Trevor, this sounds a lot like a scam I had tried on me when I was selling Lyric. Talk to your bank abut how you should accept payment, from the seller, what bank is he using. When I sold Lyric the buyer was here and
he had his bank do a money transfer to mine. When my bank confirmed receipt he got the paper work. To the buyer if you are honest I apologize but something about your proposal sounds fishy.

I left for Hilo, Hawaii from Coos Bay, Oregon on Aug 3rd of 2017, 11:30AM.

Sailed west for 7days to avoid one of the dangerous coast side between Oregon and Cal States.

Then heading south all the way to 40N & 130W.

Second way point was 30N & 140W. Made it without problems.

Catches the trade wind from there, but I did not have a preventer for my main sail so that experienced a lot of accidental jybing.

Somedays, there is no wind at all so that at ocean for 43rd day, I ran out of drinking water.

USCG helped me that they dropped water and provisions.

At 46th day, my forestay wire was cut and lost my roller furling gears along with sail.

I gave up and USCG dispatched a airplane, and I was rescued by fishing vessel from Honolulu.

Landed at Honolulu on 49 days in ocean. which was Sept. 14th.

I was alone, single handed.

I still feel very sorry that I had to abandon my OZETTE(name of the boat).

Made the story short since you asked.

Thanks, Gorden!

Hi gang - a chap in FLA called me today and sounds very interested. Looks like it may be gone.  I will know for sure at the end of February and will notify the Yahoo group accordingly.  Sorry to hear about your boat Simon.  I hope you find one closer to home.
That’s quite a haul across the country.  Trev

PS - Thanks for the heads up, Walt and Judy.   Never can be too careful.  Fair winds.
