v222 mast/boom connection

Two questions about the 222. My used V222 has it's original main and jib, both in remarkably good condition, the main is stencilled with boat description and a number,V222 & 1388, what does the number mean? Next, could someone post a picture of the way the boom attaches to the mast. Mine is something that a previous owner fabricated and while it works, it hold the foot of the sail way too far back from the mast, almost three inches. Should it be similar to the style of the one on my V21, thanks MG

Yes

Put a stronger weld on the joint, as everyone told me the original was really not strong enough. I also added length to it so in reality i did some of the fabrication to improve the original. On the original the set up was to roll the boom if you wanted to reef. It worked, but was time consuming and out dated now. So really i just put some reefing points in my sail instead.
