Am considering making an offer for Vega 1165, Nee
Libre (1971), on the hard for some years after
extensive cruising in New England. Any remarks would
be appreciated.
The mast support bulkhead has been reinforced. It
needs among other things an MSD holding tank, ball
valve seacocks, interior replacement of the foam
liner, a proper dodger (spray hood), batteries and
some new wiring, and finishing engine replacement.
I am considering Awlgrip or equivalent for topsides so
any comments on conversion primers would be helpful.
Has anyone varnished the interior wood? Has anyone
replaced the original Origo alcohol stove with
kerosene burners, or a two-burner/oven?
