have one made

1) how did you break/destroy the OEM? 2) likely you could bring the dimensions or what is left of the OEM to a lexan seller/fabricator for a duplicate, you will have to transfer the hardware yourself 3)call Hunter, maybe a spare is available, unlikely since they discontinued this hatch type in 97-98?? Good Luck

Best bet is Hunter

that boat is new enough so that their supplier may still have the part. Email them at customerservice@huntermarine.com.

Building one is very easily done. Take your old

hatch cover to any plastics store, and there are always these stores in any bigger city. They simply will cut to your pattern and drill the holes. Also try one of the better window glass stores if you fail on the plastic store. Ray S/V Speedy 95 H26

What I did

Please note I have a 1996 and am not sure if there is a differnce. The problem with a piece of lexan is that my hatch cover is curved. I was able to order a replacement through Hunter (1-800-771-5556 Mike Thomas). The part was $170.00 which shocked me until I looked at generic replacements. I will have to use the existing hardware. Hope this helps

Broke mine ...replacement from Hunter.

I also broke mine during a dismasting. Drum on furling jib failed releasing forestay, as mast fell back, a jib sheet caught the open hatch yanking it back and snapping it. (That was minor compared to the mast, which snapped when it hit the mast crutch, or the boom, which broke at the gooseneck from the stress.) Fortunately no major injuries, happened close to shore, and insurance covered the repairs. The local Hunter dealer handled repairs, getting the hatch from Hunter. Mast and boom had to be custom made, as the original manufacture is no longer in business. I'm happy with the new equipment, although the service left something to be desired. Long story short - call Hunter, they'll take care of you. T J
