'V' berth hatch replacement

I've got a 1984 O'Day26 whose 'V' berth hatch is crazed and is beginning to leak. Are there replacments available for a not-too-handy do it your selfer? Or should I have the yard replace it?Thanks for any leads.

Hatch Size Replacement

Greg,I have a 85 O26 and have also looked at replacing the front hatch. Mine does not leak yet, but both latches broke off and I rigged a replacement for the time being. I believe the size of the hatch is 16.5 X 16.5, and there are several replacement hatches in the West Marine catalog that will fit. Lewmar and Bomar both have a couple of different hatches, just depends on how much you can spend.Ben AllenMontgomery, AL"Latte Dah"O 26

Same Problem

Greg,I also have an '84 O26 with a leaky hatch. I asked the Marina to look into replacement. So far, they mentioned that the original manufacturer went out of business, but tracked down the company who supposedly picked up their line of stuff. They did not have an exact replacement but were faxing information to the Marina for comparison. I will be there sometime this weekend, so I will see what the latest is and just who the company is. I do recall they are in Florida.

D&R Marine (508 644-3001)has the replacement hatch. I discussed it with them last year.

Hatch replacement

I am fixing up an Oday 20 and I want to replace the hatch over the V berth with a new hatch. I have looked at the ones Lewmar and Bomar sell, but can't find one that is 15"x15" (cut out opening). Has anyone had any luck replacing one of these and if so how. Where did you find a replacement? I am considering having one custome made...or the top part anyway. Any help would be appreciated.Kathryn
