Gentlemen and ladies, greetings! First post :)
I've just bought my first sailboat, a beautiful Catalina 30, and I need to baby proof. Does anyone know the size of the opening leading into the vberth? I would like to pick up some netting to keep the wee baby from falling out.

I can't give you exact width, but I'd guess it's about 3 feet. What I wanted to suggest though would be a clothes net; I have one in my V berth, and it could be cut to make a great safety barrier for your boat. It'd allow full airflow too... the one I have is very strong. I think I got it on a boat supply website.

I am not sure of the dimensions but you could also look at the same thing you would use at home to keep youngsters or pets out of rooms or off the stairway. They are sturdy and also allow air flow. I am not sure of what they are called. To many years since my kids were at that age.

I will measure and post in about three hours as I am living aboard
How long have you been living aboard a C30? I've often wondered how that would be... Did it take a while to get used to?
