Hello all, we are looking for ideas on how to close the V-berth access to have privacy when
People need to use the head,
Originally the boat had wooden doors, but the opening was so small that the PO removed them, we do feel the wood doors make the V-berth claustrophobic, and very hot, we were wondering if anyone had made curtains or something to give privacy and let air through?

I removed mine in my last boat as well, used a good quality dark blue cloth shower curtain and a couple of kayak lashing hooks on either side of the door frame to hang it. Worked great - I stored it in a drawer most of the time. For ventilation, leave some room at the top and bottom.

I have seen screens for back doors that have a magnetic strip to keep them closed (keeping the bugs out), yet give way to let people pass. For privacy, you might paint the screen or stitch on a cloth to provide privacy.

Here is one example.

The H26 came with a curtain. It had a track across the cabin top.

I did a google for ceiling mounted curtain tracks and found a lot to choose from. This one looks promising.

We used a spring loaded expandable curtain rod (available on Amazon) across the opening leading to the vanity/head/ forward berth area. It spanned between the compression post and the opposite bulkhead edge. A piece of material was hemmed to slide back and forth over the rod worked well giving privacy. We installed a couple of pad eyes to tie the curtain to the bulkhead side when we didn't need to use it. Easy, cheap solution.
