I have a 84 31'Hunter. In the middle of the dinnet table there use to be an access for the utinsils. The tray is gone and the access is screwed shut. We are going to redue the system but we wonder why it was removed? Was this a knee knocker? Should we just let it be? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Dennis

We used ours for salt/pepper/toothpicks

Dennis: We used our for salt, pepper & tooth picks. There was actually a tray in there that held about three containers and then there was a tray. We never had anyone bang their knees, so I do not know why anyone world remove it.

I agree with Steve...

On our 31, under that cover is a teak box with partitions. I also do not see it as a problem for anyones knees. Perhaps it was broken and just disgarded instead of taking the time to fix it. Or possibly it was removed to allow the table to store flat. In ours we keep the same stuff Steve keeps in his, along with tableware.
