Cetol

Light sanding, rub down with acetone, and at least three coats. Do this once each year and it will last. Cetol is easy to sand and easy to put on. Paul

Cetol on teak

We do not recommend Cetol for teak decks. We have found it is fine for trim, but attacks the caulking over time. You best choice would be to stick with a "traditional" teak oil type sealer. The best way to get a long lasting finish on your teak it to clean it and seal it on separate days. After cleaning the teak, (and we recommend a one part teak cleaner as the 2-part cleaners, although easy are very rough on the teak) allow it to thoroughly dry, at least 24 hours, and then apply 2 or more thin coats of oil.

Thanks paul

Thanks Paul! I have new teak hand rails on my 79 Hunter 30. I figured your answer, but wanted to confirm. I had the remainder of the bright work done 2 years ago and it's still going strong! Thanks, G

Yes, on my 1979 30' Hunter

As you have read, I have used Cetol on my 1079 30' and it works great. It is 'glossy' so I think I use what you asked about. Sooo... What's your question? George
