I am in a partnership with some guys on an older Mac 25 (1974). Yes the Brass Monkey still floats and functions very well. We are in need of a new mainsail. Looking for opinions on where and how to find a great deal on a used main sail. I have snooped a bit on the web but sometimes there are folks out there that know of very good deals. So any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try Googleing Bacon Sails in Annapolis. You will need the sail Luff & foot measurements, but actual fit may also depend on the prebend (if any) of your mast. There may be a lot of J24 sails, don't know how they may fit your mast.

Sail Ware House you can get one cheap....and they are a good quality sail loft. Replaced my jib from there. $565 for a new main...here is the link...and I don't work there or anything just good place with reasonable sails. :dance:

Also try national Sails in Florida. I got my main and 150 genny there. New Rolly Tasker sails for a very reasonable cost. I'm glad I went with new instead of used.

Masthead Enterprises is a sail loft and a small boat dealer as well. They have a large inventory of used sails and Paul Silvernaill is the fellow you want to work with and they are in the St. Pete are of Florida. I found his pricing very reasonalble and quality of work fantastic. As a former dealer, I used him exclusively other than another loft I thought of is Blue Star out of Chattanooga of all places.

Over the years (and many boats), I've dealt with a number of the used sail brokers mentioned in this thread. Most have been easy to deal with and most rate their sails fairly. But having said that, you need to measure your boat in order to have confidence that any used sail you buy will properly fit your boat. And make sure you understand the return policy of the sail broker you may use in the event the advertised sail you buy can be returned if it doesn't meet your expectations.
There is a guy on Craigslist in Atlanta that always has lots for sale. I don't know where he gets them.
I have a Mac main sail. It's got the bolt rope on both luff and foot. It needs a new headboard on it. It is OEM for a Mac 26s. It has the M and I forget it may have a 26 on it. It's probably (other then needing a headboard) in fair to good shape, I replaced my mast so it won't fit my rig.
