I am in my first year of sailing and boating and I have a few questions about used parts. The mast on my '79 O'Day 23 broke in a big storm last weekend. I received some great advice on how to buy a new replacement mast on the O'Day Owners site, but I have some questions about used replacement parts for sailboats: 1. Are there such things as parts yards or junk yards for old boats which have been abandoned/retired such as there are for old cars? Any in the Northeast 2. If I could be assured of exactly the right parts, would it be sensible to try and get a used mast? 3. I have seen ads for some old boats which could cost less than the mast sold on its own. How would you dispose of the rest of the old boat once you have salvaged the parts you desire? Thanks,Dave
