Anyone purchase good used parts online?

If so can you post a link? I see a bunch on eBay but, eBay and I haven't been on speaking terms for many years.

No...........Depends on what you want to purchase. What used equipment are you looking for? If you know what specific part you want, do an internet search on "used sailboat part.....". I know sailing friends have purchased used 2 speed, self-tailing newer winches on eBay and were happy with what they bought and the price they paid. You can also do an internet search on "marine consignment stores online" to find links like the one below in Rock Hall, MD.

Bacon Sails in Annapolis is a reputable shop for used sails.

I have purchased lightly used parts. The caution is, you need to know how the part works and be able to judge the condition before you buy with a no return policy.

E-Bay has a pretty good policy about item condition and return.

My purchases included a binnacle guard, several winches, and an antique sextant that turned out to be a decent bookshelf ornament, but a poor navigational tool.

It might be hard to find an online used boat parts store with an actual online inventory you can order from. You might need to contact a few places asking for whatever it is you need.

I found a lot of good stuff at Marine Connection Liquidators when I was refitting in Ft Pierce 10 years ago.

This group also salvages and has a "You Pull Em" type connection themselves and also with Boat Yards.

Craigs list may be a resource…heavy objects cost a lot to ship…so if you can find them locally, it could work out for you.
What are you looking for? I have a Lewmar winch for sale on the parts forum, and am going to be putting 2 Barlow 19’s single speed ST winches up there soon. And a used anchor I don’t need…but these are heavy to ship.

Please consider donating to his service if you find it useful. The search doesn't catch everything, since many consignment places don't inventory, but this catches a lot.

Bacons in annapolis has many more things than just sails. . sextants, winches, Davit’s, used electrical stuff, all kinds of engine parts, etc etc etc. check their online listings or just give them a call,
