Can you recommend any other good used boat websites other than yachtworld.com?

All depends on what type of boat you're after. If the boat you're interested in has a strong owners' association with an online presence, you will often find the most ads there.

Since boats are very often owned by the 'older' set (yeah, I'm in there too), there are many used boats NOT listed online. We found our boat because a friend saw the ad in the classified section of a small-town weekly.

I found my boat on craigslist.org An auction company had it on their list of boats that was abandoned at a boatyard. Got a REALLY good deal. I normally don't do craigslist but for some reason I checked out the auction. If the boats din't sell, they were to be parted out. It was like the boat was calling to me to save her.

I found the boats on boattrader.com to be fairly expensive. I bought mine on Craigslist in March (when prices were low). There are still some good deals to be had though...

A friend just sold his Westsail 32 for close to full asking with an ad on their owners' site. We get a lot of ads and "wanted" inquiries for Ericsons and Olsons on the ericsonyachts.org site. I would guess that this hold true for most of the active owner sites around the 'net.

Another source is the Used boats section at the BoatUS site.

Happy hunting,
L
