Usa 76

I hope everbody had a good day on the water. I had a very intresting day as USA 76 the boat Larry Ellison challeneged Alingi for the americas cup in 1993 sailed about 100 yards behind me today. I also had a run in with a giant power boat called the Rocket boat. It takes about 40-45 people around the bay at high speeds to give them a thrill. Today as I was coming under the Bay bridge heading to the Oakland Eatuary I was about 60-70 yards from the eastern abutment when the idiot came screaming between me and the bridge abutment at about 40 knots. I showed him he was NO 1 in my book.

Nice Day.. I was in Saulsalito today taking in the sights.. Nice place to poke around.. The sailing looked good.. lots of folks out .. MUCH cooler than Louisiana! Couldn't get out on the water but walking thru Muir Woods was a real treat..

Your experience with the Rocket boat gave me a possible good idea for the discontinued Jabsco device Peggie Hall describes in this post: http://forums.sbo.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?t=132703&#post838993

All you'd need to add would be a super powerful pump and an aimable nozzle.

Saw 76 today as we toured the Balclutha.. They were having a ball out on the bay !

Sorry Gary, hate to be a pill .... but, your info is incorrect. USA 76 Lost to Alinghi in the finals of the 2003 Louis Vitton Cup (regatta to determine challenger for america's cup) in New Zealand. The Swiss boat, Alinghi (with a largely Kiwi crew), went on to defeat the defending New Zealand boat and moved the cup to Valencia, Spain.
