Hello Yvonne,
I can indeed understand the Dutch
translation.
After having been a windsurfer for years
(competion, bad weather etc.) and having sailed in friends' boats, my wife,
Nanine, and I (now you know that I'm male) decided that sailing might be more
interesting for us and I think it's also more social.
Abour a year ago I bought a 13 foot
"Vaurien" which I renovated last winter and spring. But as this is quite a
small boat, we also decided to look around for a bigger one ... to make
things short, we bought the "Mohana" last December and haven't been able to sail
her yet (articles in "Sailing Today" and "Practical Boatowner" helped us to
make our decision).
At the moment she is at "Veerse Meer"
(Oranjeplaat), which is I think not unknown to you, and as she had been
neglected for some time, we've already spent quite a lot of hours abord
cleaning, repairing etc. but we've enjoyed every minute of it.
Let's hope the weather will improve
because I want to put the antifouling on and repair the crazes (Has anybody else
had this problem? How did you solve the problem?) which worry me.
She will be put in the water on 1 April
and then we (an experienced friend and I) hope to sail her to Nieuwpoort
(Belgium), her new homeport.
If you and your husband decide to sail
this way, always welcome. I'm also interested in the IFR, I hope we'll be a bit
more experienced by then.
Bye for now,
Flor OYEN,
"MOHANA" V 588
