Hi All,

My family has rented a place for my mothers 70th birthday in Urbanna, VA for a week. The place has a boathouse, dock etc. and a canoe and john boat but I would like to rent a boat, either power or sail for, a couple of days to get out on the rivers. The place is up Robinson Creek just above Urbanna and just off the Rappahannock River. It only has about 3' at MLW so a small power boat would likely be best if we could find a long term or multi-day rental. I would like to at least day sail but don't need to bring the boat back to the house.....

Anyone have any good input for boat rentals this time of year near Urbanna?

What about things to do? I know it is a small town..

Good food, bars, music or any good night life?

My brother, sister and I have a built in baby sitter so would like to get out on the town for a couple of evenings..

Any "local knowledge" would be greatly appreciated.....

Haven't been to Urbanna in a couple of years (my parents used to live there), but Cafe Mojo on Virginia St used to be pretty good. For a "homey" place to get a burger, try the Virginia Street Cafe (it's where the locals hang out). Used to be a bar/seafood place next door, but it's changed hands so many times, I'm not sure what's there now. If you've got a car, it's worth the 20 min drive to go across the Rappahannock to Irvington to the Trick Dog Cafe. You should check out Deltaville while you're there - it's the unofficial sailing capital of Virginia, though much quieter and more laid back than a place like Annapolis. It's a really small town - doesn't even have a traffic light, but used to have the distinction of having 2 WM stores (now combined into a brand new megastore). I'd offer you my boat while you're here, but I just winterized it and dropped the sails off at the loft. Of course, if you get really bored, I always have a list of boat projects.....

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
Urbanna is a neat place. My Uncle cruises to the Town of Urbanna a lot and it is one of his favorites in the area. If I remember, it isn't too far from Deltaville. Deltaville is a big area for boats in that area.

You may have luck looking at Deltaville. It may not be a far drive and I know that there is a lot more boat stuff there. There may even be a charter company that charters out of Deltaville.

As much as you have freely contributed to everyone, you should not have to rent a sailboat. I am still in the water. Send me a pm if you want to take Shiloh out.

When are going to be there. You are not far from me in Fredericksburg,va...
My boat is on the hard so no sailing for me.
Depending on time frames I would be willing to pay for a consultation on my boat wiring. I'll be in Phoenix Nov 25 -> Dec 5....
