Ups and downs

Will start with the ups first. The boat is done, finished, complete, and ready for splash. Looks pretty good, and should be better than before. The downers. Travel lift broke a chain this morning with a boat in it. So splash will not be till tomorrow morning. And the other downer. Some low life SOB stole some stuff off the boat this weekend. No, it was not locked. Was closed up tight. Good thing was that who ever it was was an idiot. Took the little cheap o Chinese gen set, and fishing stuff. Left all electronics, including two GPS units, SSB receiver, VHF, and all my tools. There is something to say for idiots. To make matters worse, I called out the cops this morning. Sorry. We will make a report. Thats it. But there have to be some fingerprints on the SSB, cause it was moved. Don't matter, that would just prove someone was on the boat, not that they took anything off it. TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE

Sorry about the low life SOB, NNE. Glad it wasn't any worse than it was. That was kind of like my experience years ago when my hou se was burglarized. I finally told the deputies not to tell me if they suspected someone but couldn't prove it, because he didn't get my guns... -Paul

Sorry to hear that, Phil. I have had a boat burglarized while on the hard in Mandeville.. Luckily the watch guy was there and had gotten up to uuuuhhhh.. take a walk. He literally bumped into the thief at (2 AM) who had my stuff in a sack.. The thief dropped the bag and started running and was caught right away.. I didn’t lose anything but he had ripped the speakers off the bulkhead and ripped the LORAN off the overhead.. cosmetics for sure but the yard fixed it pretty well..

The thief took the generator and fishing gear? Sounds like maybe he needs to power a light . . . go back at night and see who's fishing.

does the marina have cameras so they know who to look for, well dumb me they wouldn't look any way. hope the lift is fixed, and things are better for you today

That stinks, but I am of the mindset that it almost always could be worse. At least it wasn't your boat on the slings when it broke!
