I would be very suprised if you can find that stuff, but nothing is impossible.

I would contact US Yacht Cushions in St. Petersburg, FL and see if they can help you out.

Are you doing what is called a "concours" restoration, everything original? No offense Bob but the original was pretty awful.

Case closed. I just thought it was be quick, easy and less expensive. What was I thinking. Seriously, I'm looking forward to picking out cushion material. On my H25 I used some real nice water proof, lawn chair material. Which was nice, because if you had a leak somewhere the water would just pool on top of the cushions and not soak into the foam. Again, thanks Guys.

Ahoy,
I have a 1983 H30 located in St. Pete Beach FL
Although I'm not interested in the original material, I would like to restore my interior cushions to the original configuration, I just need the patterns.
Also, my portside settee once converted into a double birth, seems some woodwork is missing.
Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks

Lyle

Lyle, you are in luck...
US Yacht Cushions in St Pete area made the original cushions for the Cherubinni Hunters and has the patterns. They made a new set with new style fabric that I selected for my H 30, which are better than the originals.

Try both and verify who you are talking to.

As to the portside settee, if you dont have a flip up, hinged plywood panel under the cushion, yours was modified. You'll also need a swing-out support brace at the aft end to hold up the panel. The attached pic is of port side with original covers and a second brace I installed below cushion, forward. You will need a duplicate for the aft end of your settee, at a minnium.

Sir,

Thanks for the heads-up on US Yacht Cushions.

Regarding my portside settee,

I have the aft swing-out support you mentioned and a horizontal support ledge along the forward bulkhead.

Seems I'm only missing the pull-out plywood panel under the cushion.

I hate to impose, but could you please provide the necessary dimensions and photos to reconstruct this woodwork.

Thanks,

Lyle

I'd like those dimensions too. Mine is gone also. What holds it in place when healing?

The plywood extension is almost as long as the settee and about 6 in. narrower. There is also a solid teak border edge mounted to the top, outboard edge of the extension. I'll get a photo and exact dimensions this weekend and reply by Monday.
The plywood is mounted to the settee top by a full length, SS piano hinge. You will need lots of SS screws as well. I wonder, are the holes still in the settee top? If you have the swing out support, your boat had a hinged extension when it was made.

Did you find US Yacht Cushions? They are really nice folks. Tell them I said Hi.

Called US Yacht Cushions.....I've been playing phone-tag with Bob, have yet to talk with him though. I should get this woodwork sorted out first anyway. I don't remember any series of screw holes in my settee top.....I always imagined mine sliding out more like a drawer. I'll try attaching some photos of my arrangement.

Thanks,

Lyle

I have no holes in mine either, and it looks more like it would slide out too. But still post the pics.

This may not be of help, but on my H33 (1982) there was a long plywoot plank that was held in place with SS piano hinges the full length of the settee, with lots of screws, just like ggrizzaed stated; It folded over and it then sat on top of the 2 lazarettes (or whatever you call them); It was supported by a Mickey Mouse little bracket between the drawers at the front, and another similar bracket attached to the back of the galley sink
I removed it, because it was all ugly, but I may re-install it again one day, using a bracket fitted in the middle that folds to the side, just like the one fro ggrizzard
By the way, there is a Hunter 30 in the salvage yard I go to, with many good parts
I hope my posting be of help, I myself am beeing helped by some of the good people of this setup

Cushion Support pics

For all you h30 owners without holes (and I assume no brackets, slots, grooves or velcro strips), I have not a clue. From the pic posted, I now notice a horizontal slot below your nav table. Is there a rail groove inside the facia? Is there a slot on the forward end of the settee or holes where a rail might have been installed to form a slot to hold down the insert?

Since he designed the original set-up, let's hope John Cherubini Jr. will respond to this question:
How did Hunter attach the extension piece to the settee on the port side-main cabin after 1979? The 1980 models are different from my '79.

The plywood extension piece on my '79 Cherubini h30 is:
75 & 1/4 " long X 16 and 1/4 " wide.
Pics are best my old camera will do.
First pic is aft end of extension at the corner, in the stowed position. Second is extension opened 50 degrees past the vertical. The third pic is with the extension slightly raised from the down and stowed position.

Re: Cushion Support pics

The pictures are great. I have this on my list to do on my H27 as I prefer to sleep in the salon. Does anyone else have any pictures of how they're set up? Has anyone done anything like this on a H27?

Hey Guys, What did you find as to slots or brackets behind the facia under the nav table or at the forward end of the settee? I'm hanging here without "the rest of the story". And, which telephone number worked for US Yacht Cushions?
Thanks,
G.

ggrizzard,

(727) 322-5352 is the correct number for US Yacht Cushions.

Regarding my portside settee,
I have the aft swing-out support you mentioned and a horizontal support ledge along the forward bulkhead.
Seems I'm only missing the plywood extension panel under the cushion. Mine cannot fold like yours, I believe it should slide out like a drawer. Please see the photos I posted last week.

Thanks,

Lyle

We have a complete set of interior cushions for a Hunter 30, era 1978 for sale. The boat was totaled in a storm, but the cushions were stored in our house so they survived. The cushions are about ten years old, but look like new as they were always stored indoors and got very little use. We used best quality new marine foam and quality blue/gray velour fabric. The V cushions also have their support boards. We spent over $300 on the fabric alone.

We are asking $400 for the complete set. I can send you more pictures if you interested. (The cushions flexed when we stood them up - thus the wrinkles). We are located in the Seattle area.

slide out salon berth

My 30 is a 78 model and the berth you speak of in the salon is a slide out on mine and most certainly original.it has the swing out support on the aft end and on the fore end there is a wooden track it rides on for support that is attached to the bulkhead. It doesnt slide out when healed dont know why guess its a tight fit but its a very comfortable berth.
