Upgrading to U-Bolts

I have just ordered the U-bolt kit, for the shrouds, an am wondering if anyone knows any of the pit falls

Questions that come to mind
Will I have to remove the cabinet on the port side?
Can it be done in one day?
Should I use the old holes to save the extra day filling the holes and having the mast compromised while it dries?
Is Marinetex the filler of choice?

Do one shroud at a time. Clean and seal the holes and let dry.
You can also use a halyard to help balance the mast.
Why are you changing the U bolts? Most failures are fatigue from the wire rope of the shrouds. Good luck.

The shrouds are ok but I am seeing "some" wavyness inside the cabin near the bolts and nuts I was going to just plate it but the cost is about the same. and I gain some space on my turnbuckles

The wavyness may be from the decks core softening from water intrusion. I re did my standing rigging and have a soft deck core from water rotting out the core. The boat sails in heavy air for many years like this and hasn't lost the mast.
