I understand that as of April 1 it will not be possible to refill propane tanks that do not have an overfill protection valve. My boat has an in-deck propane locker that is specifically designed to take two skinny, tall 6lb aluminum tanks - expensive ($110 each at WM). Does anybody know if it is possible to have the old tanks retro-fitted to meet the new requirements, and if so where? Thanks Derek

Your existing tanks can easily be converted by almost any supplier of gas.All it involves is changing the valve on the tank. If memory serves...I think it cost me about $30.00 per tank. Craig

Horizontal or Vertical

Derek: I just found out this week if you have Horizontal tanks they are exempt from this regulation. Only the Vertical tanks need to be replaced or retrofitted.
