I recently purchased a 1984 Catalina 22 not having any experience whatever. I'm up for the challenge but have a questions to get started. The forestay seems to be too short. the previous owner rigged up a forestay quick release in the extended position to "make" it work. I'm looking to trailer it so would like to use the quick release properly. Where might I purchase a new forestay? Is it a standard length for my boat? Thanks

According to Catalina22.org

the length is 26ft. 2inches, but also has a word of warning, best to measure: That is for a new boat, things can change, mast can compress the deck etc.... WM Marine in Seattle will make you one up, but you really should measure the boat (206-292-8663 ask for rig shop). http://catalina22.org/
