We are trying to upgrade our Hunter 28.5. We would like to add a bimini, roller furling, new headsail, raise the boom and trim the mainsail. We also want new hatch covers, sail cover, etc. Is there anyone willing to make these items and come to Canyon Lake, TX (near San Antonio) to install them?

upgrades

John Bartlett @ 512-266-1895 runs the best sail loft in Austin and assisted me in cutting a "wedge" out of the bottom of my original main (to raise the boom slightly) and converted it to loose foot w/full battens which added several years of life and a measure of better performance. He also built my 130 genoa for the Harkin roller furling that was already on the boat. Don't know if John would do the actual installation if your starting from scratch. Paul Schmidt @ 512-266-3844 does a lot of maintenance work and will do installs on equipment. His motto includes " I don't do wood, paint, or fiberglass" but he's great at everything else. John would do hatch covers and main sail cover no problem. Bimini is another problem. I'd try to modify on bought off the shelf from a discount catalog. There are some ideas... your biggest problem will be "drive time" charges if you can get either one of them to travel as they stay pretty busy with all the boats on Travis.
