Upgrade charging/battery system

Hello all! I own a stock 1996 catalina 36. I am heading off shore next year and am looking into an upgraded charging system/battery system. I am currently installing a kiss wind generator. Any advise on batteries and alternators etc would be greatly appriciated. The boat is currently equipt. with 2 huge house batteries which also serve as starting batteries. One more thing. What are the specifications of batteries refering to Eg. group27,8d,4d etc. Thanks for your help. ANTON WILSON "feelin irie"

I did this a couple of years ago

I upgrading my batteries and charging with a high output alternator (150 Amps), two new AGM group 31 batteries for my house bank (210 AH), and a group 27 starting battery charge via an Echo Charger. I installed a Link 10 to monitor the house bank. It all works pretty good. Contact Hamilton Ferris Company in Massachusetts. He set me up with this package.
