march 1 is anticipated sailing date-- if is a friday, i will leave the next day. within the next coupla weeks, i have a yard appointment to replace my stuffing box and part of the destroyed shaft tube i am dealing with. after that i replace and repair chainplates . i have a crew coming mid feb, and am seeking one more. first stop will be mazatlan.
\ we have a yard to hype in sd area-- wont be able to hype until they deliver as promised, within the set budget.
i will miss greatly the man i sailed with before this--i was counting on hi8s smarts-- but i have those of my own, an di am able to get tuff done without his help so far-- next big purchase is a 60 pound bruce!!!!! then a manual 2 speed windlass, and 3/8 chain to 200 feet for my primary anchor system. my secondary is a 35 pound cqr and 200 ft of 5/16 chain, electric windlass used here.
wow!!!! this is a new experience-- beginning of full time cruising --permanent cruiser. i still have a 35 ericson in sd--on a mooring-- but i will be out and about.
