Sorry for posting this here. I'll move it in a day or two but I wanted to make sure it's seen.

1. We now have a Custom Forum online. It will display posts from any group of forums you choose.

Here's how to use it:

a. Subscribe to the forums you want to follow.

b. To subscribe, go to the forum. Click on Forum Tools. Then click on Subscribe to this Forum. (see image below)

c. You must be logged in to do this.

d. Go to the Forums tab. Select My Forum.

e. You'll see a list of all posts from the past 30 days in the forums you selected. This is not a real forum, so when you click a post you go into the originating forum. to go back to your forum either use your browser's Back button or select it again from the Forum menu.

2. We now have a special address and design for PDA users. Use:
http://forums.pda.sailboatowners.com
This will take you right into the SBO forums. It supports replies, PM's, and such, but it is small and as stripped down as can be. I just set it up today so the domain may not be "live" in your area for 24 hours or so.

3. I have added the author's home port and boat info to all posts.

If you're missing something from the old site, or need a nav link where there isn't one please let me know. Just click on my name and send either a PM or an email.

Thanks for your patience while we get this fine tuned!

Thanks Phil!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been on my list of things to ask you about. Loading the main pages in a PDA is painful this should really help!!

I was hoping you would do this, but didn't want to complain...... yet. I was missing being able to tell where everyone was from while reading the posts. I don't always know who is up in this area. The site-izeny thing meant nothing to me and was distracting, but that's just my perspective. ;)

Thanks, you guys rock. The regular site was working better with Javascript turned off on my PDA. This is much faster.
Now if I can just figure out how to post pictures using the Treo.
Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Thanks for adding both these features. I really missed the Cusom Forum feature, and the PDA function should be better than the old site. I haven,t logged in with my pda since the site changed.

Yeah! The forum subscription is exactly what I have been looking for on the new site. A huge improvement to being able to sort what I want to follow from what I might check on very occasionally.

Groan -- I am so behind the times

Sorry, I thought they were all classed as PDA's. It should work on anything with a small screen and low bandwidth.

I can send text messages though, albeit very slowly...

Just in case you subscribe to a forum you really don't want, for example, the War Room... :D
