I was reading Cliff Mass's (Professor UW) weather blog in prep for my cruise this week. Though the forecast was encouraging for the cruise, this unusual event caught my attention. You can see the Seattle skyline through the clouds.

The Origin of the Puget Sound Tornado
Around 3 PM on Wednesday, a tornado was spotted over Puget Sound (see picture below). Technically, this rotating wind feature is known as a waterspout since it developed over water.
And you guys in the east of the Rockies thought you had all the fun... Well maybe you do, as this is a frequent occurrence.
