I have a 1986 S2 30. The last couple of times we have been out we've had water sloshing the floor boards. The source of the water is unknown. The bilge pump is functioning and the bilge appears to be empty.

The conditions have been as follows every time. Port tack, healing 15-20 degrees to starboard. When we tack over to starboard, the water comes from the starboard side and sloshes across the floorboards. The plastic water tank is mounted under the starboard side settee. None of the fittings appear to be leaking when stationary. I've had a Scuba diving friend of mine check and everthing looks good under water.

Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

Sounds to me like there's a fitting (fill or vent) on the top of the water tank that leaks when the tank is tipped and water is up against it. Either that or there's a crack in one of the top seams. you could pressurize it using a bicycle pump and some Mcguyver methods and wipe some soapy solution on the fittings and seams to see if anything bubbles, indicating a leak.

Check your rudder stuffing box packing / nut. I get the same thing only under certain conditions. On the other tack the water would go down the bilge, but on the other tack, from what I guess, it gets routed under the cabinets where it has destroyed my sole.
