I have a 1980 Hunter 33. The head vanity top is in dire need of refinishing. However, I can't really determine what the top is made of. It seems some sort of an early "Corian" possibly. It don't know what to use to refinish this, fine sand paper on a randon orbit sander or a buffing wheel on a drill with fine abrasive. Could someone please tell me what this material is. Hunter Marine Tech support was less than helpful, which I have found to be their usual, Thanks alot, I look forward to hearing from you!

Glass?

I have always assumed it to be fiberglass with a gelcoat finish. A chip seems to confirm this, but I really am not sure. I have always maintained it as fiberglass!

33 Top

I think it is Corian. I buff mine with rubbing compound than wax it looks like new.

Gel coat

I think you will find it to be Gel coat over glass. Hunter wasnt putting corian in boats 20 years ago. I would suggest using fiberglass cleaner, polish, wax combination like Mcguires 3 step process. If it is in real bad shape, buy a good paint like Awlgrip top side paint and follow instruction. Doug
