Universal Motorola Alternator

Anyone changed or repaired the original Motorola alternator on the Universal engine? Mine is a 1983. It has one output post and a smaller connection that enters the wire harness running up to the amp meter- or possibly a Tach option that I don't have (I'm guessing) I tried to get it tested but got the run around.
It is leaking, probably just a fried diode. I don't need a high output unit. Can you still buy a replacement? Thanks.

Leece-Neville 8MR Series is what you want... These are the old Motorola alts...

My old Motorola just has the POS terminal for output to the batteries and one other that goes to the starter switch. The replacement appears a little more complexed!

rebuilt!

I got it rebuilt for under 200 bucks. They did a nice job. I had read that the parts EG: the regulator) would be impossible to find but they had it. On to the wax job UGGG!:cry:
