The fresh water pump has gone on on my universal m4-30 engine. I know it's a Kubota Y 850 block, but this doesn't seem to help with the Kubota dear. Does anyone have a cross reference of universal to Kubota part numbers? To the part number for the fresh water pump?

I trust that you are not talking about the tractor

version of the Kubota engine.

Kubota would not know about that pump because it was put there by Universal (Westerbeke) They bought the pump from someone like Johnson (may be a different vendor) so you should be able to find a manufacturer's mark and a model number somewhere on it.. These can be rebuilt (usually, but not always, depending on damage) without too much pain. A new pump is pretty expensive.. Good Luck
The store on this site has some seawater pumps, so Phil may be able to pitch in here.

It's the coolant pump, part of the engine. Should be available from Kubota at a fraction of the cost from westerbeke. Over 400usd. Plus I'm in Malaysia getting it here will be another 200. The bearing has gone out, I starting to look for someone to make the bearing, it to be cheaper.
