I was told by a mechanic that the idle RPM was too high when he did an engine test. It is currently set just above 1000 RPM. the manual agrees and states that the RPM should be set between 800-1000 RPM. I adjusted the RPM down to 900 however when I did, the engine vibrates aggressively at this RPM. As soon as I adjusted it back up to 1000, the vibrating stopped. It seems to want to Idle just above 1000. Should I set the idle to 900 and then adjust something else to stop the vibration?

You can't.

You are correct in setting the idle where it is comfortable for you.

The transmission can shift up to 1,200 rpm safely, so no issues there.

We have this question with our newer C34s also, and that's the consensus.
