One last "easy" thing to check is how easy does the shaft turn. With the transmission in neutral, engine off, turn the shaft by hand, it should turn without to much resistance, if it does not, check packing gland, it may have been overtightned.fair windsDavePS. I am the guy with the 3 blade 13X12 on my Catalina 30. I made than change after contacting several prop manufacturers for their recommendations about prop size for my boat. The factory 3 blade is a 13X10, I just had it repitched.Engine still turns to max RPM both in and out of gear. I am almost a 1/2 know faster that my friends identical C30 with the 13X10. Big difference on a 8 hour journey;-))) Flat water speed is just over 6K at 2500rpm
