Universal M25 engine mount problem??

This winter (as previously reported) I replaced my engine mounts, propshaft, PSS dripless packing system, and cutless bearing. I splashed today, and have been working on engine alignment. I have the engine reasonably close to where it needs to be, but noticed now that the front port side engine mount stud is too high to allow the oil filter to screw on. I have the engine pretty close to the center of the height of mount studs, and if anything the front of the engine still needs to go lower. I don't remember the engine being high on the old studs - in fact reviewing old photos confirms that. I used the same model mounts as were in there originally, so I don't believe that is the problem. Has anyone else encountered this with the M25?

Alignment

I do not know much about it other than you might want to give everything a litttle longer to settle before attempting to do the shaft alignment. I had it done a few years back, and the mechanic who performed the work asked that the boat be in the water for a few weeks prior to coming down. I know it took him a solid hour working with feeler gauges to get everything right. This was just a routine check after I purchased the boat used. I do know that it is suggested to check alignment every few years, or after major work is performed.

Was the stud screwed all the way

down into the new engine mount? Is the one on the starboard side as high as the one on the port side under the filter?

from the photo...

it looks like you have the engine tilted to the starboard side of the vessel. Also there would be nothing wronge with sawing off the top of the mounting bolt for oil filter clearance.
