Okay, here's a dumb question: How do I figure out what year my engine is? Is it in the serial #...which is where?? Its dirty and cramped so I figured I'd ask before standing on my head in the engine compartment on a wild goose chase with rag and flashlight in hand! Thanks

Engine age....

Patrick,The only way I know of is to get the serial# and call your distributer to see if they can get a build date. If it's original, assume it's the same year as the boat. These engines are not like cars, they may go 8-10 years without a major change.
