Universal M-18 oil leak

I just discovered I have an oil leak and it seems to be coming from the pan.It appears to be coming off the connection between the dip stick tube and thepan. I can't tell if it might be coming from further up and just running offat that point. (I didn't have long enough to diagnose that part before havingto leave the boat this a.m.)In any case, can anyone suggest how hard it is to fix this? It seems like theleak at the dip stick would be the easiest, but I know it's a tight fit in anycase. What if I do have to drop the whole pan? Is this something that can beaccomplished with the engine in place? It's a 1985 Universal M-18.Thanks in advance.Patrick

oil leak

Pat I had the same porblem. Found out it was the dip stick tube had corrosion at the bend. I had a hell of a time getting it out. It is in a place where you can't get a rench on it. It took vice grips and a lot of patence. And I know on a catalina 30 you can not remove the oil pan with out pulling the engin out. Good luck Jerry.
