universal 5411 thermastat part #

i dont think there is a thermastat on my 5411 engine. does anyone know what thermastat is required for thisengine and also could i buy a thermastat from an automotiveparts house. If so, do you know the part number etc.? also, i can not find a screen or filter(other than the thruhull fitting)for the water intake....... any help will be greatly appreciated.thanksLee
