This is going to be a rather dumb question to some but, whatever. Is the 5411 exhaust manifold water jacketed? That is, the cooling water that flows through the engine block and then into the exhaust manifold (as shown in the Universal engine operators manual) is really flowing through channels built into the exhaust manifold, correct? When I look at the manifold on the engine it is a rather small unit and leaves me wondering whether the cooling water and exhaust from the pistons are mixed together. This doesn't make sense to me but I see where the exhaust manifold is connected to the exhaust loop and also see the connection to the thermostat housing with the hoses going from this housing to the exhaust and the recirculation line that connects to the intake tee. Thanks to anyone who can understand what I'm asking and has the answer.
