unidentified stainless cable

I found this in the bow of my new to me daysailer 3. It is about 2 feet long with a ball on one end and becket blocks on the other end. I'm assuming this is for the centerboard, but would like to know for sure. Can someone on the site identify this?

My guess would be that it’s a boom Vang. Connects between the bottom of the boom (2 to 3 feet from the mast) to the bottom of the mast.

That's definitely a boom vang. The nubbin on the end of the wire will slot into a key plate on the underside of the boom about 18-24" aft of the gooseneck, then the other end will hook somewhere towards the base of the mast.
