Under the boom hardware

I was looking under my mast inside the cabin. I saw a small groundstrap above the head. There was a metal plate and two bolts that were so rusty they broke off. Does this hold my mast on and how should i fix it. Under the mast there is a pivot point with a bolt through it like a transom and a piece of wood under the mast between this transom plate and the mast. What should i do?

Insufficient information regarding the strap, but it damn sure does not hold your mast up,because that is not possible. Rather, I think someone grounded the mast against lightning strike. Trace and you shall find. This is a guess, though, because I cannot tell from my h25 what you are talking about. More info,more feedback. Regards, Jim
