Is it easily possible to unbolt the keel of a cat 28 for transport to Australia . Is their a stub before the lead? is the joint fibreglassed?

... since no one else is offering up any experience, I'll pitch in my 2 cents. I've had mine since November, and have only seen 28s with bottom paint on, but there appears to be no seam. I would guess the keel is continuously fiberglassed to the hull. Separating it seems like a challenging undertaking. It might be easier to sail her to Australia

Why not call Catalina Yachts and aks them?

Thank you for your reply. Have you got keel bolts in your bilge? What year is your 28? i am looking at an older one 92 or 93. Regards She is a bit small to cross the Pacific and i dont have a spare six months.
