... since no one else is offering up any experience, I'll pitch in my 2 cents. I've had mine since November, and have only seen 28s with bottom paint on, but there appears to be no seam. I would guess the keel is continuously fiberglassed to the hull. Separating it seems like a challenging undertaking. It might be easier to sail her to Australia
Thank you for your reply. Have you got keel bolts in your bilge? What year is your 28? i am looking at an older one 92 or 93. Regards She is a bit small to cross the Pacific and i dont have a spare six months.
