There was ice in the bird bath this morning.

There was ice on the decks this morning.. Had to wait until it warmed up to drop the spar or they would have had a tough time..

She's due to go into the slings in about an hour...:cry:

Do they still drop the water level in the lake ? I lived in Andover for 12 years and fished Hopatcong all the time. Here on the west side of Lake Erie the wind drops the lake sometimes 6 feet or more.

The lake level is dropped about 6 feet at 5 year intervals (the last time was 2008-2009). They start draining in September so our boat would be pulled out by mid-Sept. They do it so people can maintain their docks and boat houses. DEP played games with the release rate when it came time to raise the lake level back up and it really pissed a lot of people off when the lake didn't fill as summer was approaching. The DEP basically has an agenda that is based on aggrevating as many people as they can, and they do it without any oversight, which is what really sets people off.

Normally, the level is dropped about 2 feet and I noticed today that the water level was way down from just last weekend so they must have increased the outflow after the weekend. Good thing I brought the boat over for haul-out on Sunday because they hauled her out today. There isn't much tolerance where they bring the boat to the lift, so I have to be ready to go when the time comes, and it comes quickly!
