SOOO, I go out to the boat Friday and mostly sail. But I also take a look at the electrical as I have this "new" bus bar panel to attach. And what do I find? There are two bus bars! they are damn near even with the cockpit starboard bench and screwed directly into the bulkhead. I'll try and attach a photo. I have new questions: 1) I have an evinrude 9.9 it doesn't have electric start and I can't imagine that an engine that small has an altenator/generator. So how come its wired? I'd really like to get rid of some of this rats nest of woring. 2) I can't imagine that I'm gonna work well in the area under the cockpit floor. If I take the 4 screws out on the panel is everything accesible from the cabin? 3) THe current set-up uses a very thin (in MHO) gauge wire to run from the battery to the bus bar. Its about the size of my mouse cable. And it appears to take a side trip to the fused panel. What is standard for this "branch" line. I'm getting a copy of the 12 volt bible but it ain't here yet. There is a spot where it appears there may have been another bus bar and leading away down the bulkhead from that spot is a black line which looks a lot like where somthing got REAL hot. The sailing was nice.Later,Mike
