Hunter Cutter perth amboy
I have a hunter 37 cherubini cutter with one head... From the head it goes to a three way valve. From the three way valve one hose goes to the holding tank and then from the holding tank to the other side of the boat to a tee... Then one goes to the waste deck plate... the other hose I have no idea... because it was not hooked up when I bought the boat... Any way I have one head and two three way valves does anyone know how these are supposed to get hooked together?

If I understand correctly...

Your system was originally plumbed to provide a choice of flushing the toilet directly overboard or into the tank. Your tank was also plumbed for both pumpout or dump out at sea. From your description it appears that all the plumbing except for the y-valves for both the overboard options has been removed...that you can only flush the toilet into the tank now, and the tank can only be emptied via pumpout now. That seems to have left some plumbing that could stand a bit of simplifying...and I recommend you do it, 'cuz it doesn't do y-valves, pumps and seacocks any good at all to sit unused for extended time periods.

Usually I can help with H37C plumbing questions. But the head plumbing was completely different from year to year. On my '79 everything was kept on starboard. The holding tank was under the shower seat and the rest in the starboard v-berth locker. In there was a Y-valve and a Whale Gusher pump. So simple.

For some reason later they moved the pumpout to the port side. But two 3-way valves makes no sense. There is a PDF manual here( http://hunter.sailboatowners.com/images/kb/pdf/963.pdf ) that has the 1984 plumbing diagram(if you right-click, turn it clockwise at about 75% it is easier to study). It shows a 1 1/2" PVC Tee and pump in the port v-berth locker. I thought a Y-valve was required, maybe not.
