I visited the boat today to check up on her. The boat, cover and everything else looked pretty good. Only two and a half months left until launch, I’m starting to get excited and thinking about a few spring projects, I’ve had enough winter for this year.

Nice cover job and cradle there. Does it have a vent for moisture to escape?

Keep it up,

That looks like a cruel thing to do to a boat. I don't think my boat would like the snow very much. I spoil my dogs too.

I've never had a vent in the shrink wrap for the past several years I've been getting it done. There's never been a moisture problem in the boat from not having the vent so I don't think its a big issue.

The cruelest part of it all is me having to see her in that giant blue bubble for six months every year, but I get to cut the cover off soon enough and everything should be good then.

Docks go back in the water April 1 here in Maine. Why wait any longer? I started April 11 last year. 20 knot winds gusting to 35. Cost me a winch and all the slugs on my main. Maybe I should have waited?

Still in mourning

Don't we northerners all know the feeling of winters frigid embrace. Hard sailing when the water is solid. But come the long weekend in May (with luck the weekend before) life will have light in it again. Time now to start ordering up stuff for the keel refurb. That's the big project for 2011. The rest is clean and shine work. Can't get to crazy...gotta sail don't ya know.:D Up here in the Maritimes the snow is deep, the thermometer deeper and my depression at the winter low...so it should be all up (except the snow I hope) from here.
