My first race. It was a challenge. We were actually going backwards at one point. I just missed you at TYC. I met a lot of nice folks there.

George, no, I've lived in the South all my life. Chuck, sorry we missed you. Hope you can make it back again. Somebody did say something about a polar bear sighting. Did you draw straws to see who was getting in the water? I think whoever was driving when the trap was picked up should go. By the way, did you see the pic of my wife driving the boat across the finish line? On the TYC website, 1st page of pics, at the bottom, boat with big red asymmetrical.

Nice picture. The deal with the trap is pretty funny. While motoring over to starting area, the elbow in the exaust broke. Smoke in the cabin. Water spewing in engine compartment. We killed the engine and I climbed into laz and taped up the elbow with duct tape. I think while we were drifting is when we picked up the trap. Charlie just wanted to drop out but it being my first race I said 'h e double hockey sticks' no. Not going to loose before we even start. So off I go. Charlie said he had never seen anyone climb into a boat without a ladder before. The water was cold......
