Has anyone read john Vigor,s new book Twenty Small sailboats to Take you Anywhere I hear the catalina 27 is one of them ?

Hi Brian, Yes, there are a couple of books like Vigor's that include the Catalina 27, however when you read them they always add reservations like, "you *could* sail across the ocean in a Catalina 27, but I wouldn't do it." I belieive this is because having the Catalina 27 (with over 6000 built) listed in the table of contents simply just sells more books. So, although I love my Catalina 27, having it included in a book titled "Twenty Small Boats That Will Take You Anywhere" is a bit of a stretch.Nick "Julia Bell" Hull # 86

(John, who lives in Bellingam, presently ownes a Cape Dory 25D and is rebuilding a Mirror Dinghy)Very interesting reading, especially how he prepped his boat for the trip.
