I want to install a TV antenna on my Beneteau 36cc. Any suggestions? I have been told that the Hinkley Hoop is the best but rather pricy. THANKS Steve

I have been looking at the omni-directional with amplifier at Radio Shack, about $80. But what the heck, we should go for the new satellite system, the one you mount on your mast and it tracks the satellite. No aiming required, roll around the anchor all you want.

Test Before Buying
I put a small amplified unit from West Marine on the boat. That's what most of the guys in my marina have. It gives excellent reception, but not so great in the marina. I recently read a Gordon West article that says the problem is that it is omnidirectional and thus is getting bounce from all the masts and rigging. he says for the marina, a good set of amplified rabbit ears are better. That is what I used before and I'd tend to agree, although once outside the harbor, it works really well. Check with your neighbors and see what they are using and what they think. Rick D.

Mast DOWN???????????
I have my mast down to install my radar dome and ST60 wind,I have been thinking while the mast is down I should add what else?? Its a 2001 290 and should I add a tv antenna,here on long island if you don't have cable reception stinks so we need cable,am I missing something. Also been thinking of adding spreader lights or combo deck mast light,whats the pros and cons. nick

While the mast is down, how about a mast top tri-color light? Or an LED anchor light? BTW, check the backing plate on the steaming light. I've seen lots of Hunters (including my 290) where the backing plate was mounted off to the side of the light, rather than the back, giving the wrong indication for the steaming light. How's the radar installation going?

Almost done
I am almost done just need to mount the radar dome on the mast mount and connect the cable to it. I am taking a break for a week and going warmer on vacation,got to go my wife is yelling its time to leave for the airport,be back in ten days. nick
