TV in a Beneteau 361....but where?

I would like to install a TV on my Beneteau 361. Bringing all the cables (12V and aerial) at the bottom of the mast where it exists the saloon deck is fine. But what next? Where I am going to place the TV and the cables? The mast is not near the “wall” with the front cabin so whatever I do must be a compromise. I could not hide them. Any ideas from people with same model that have installed a TV? Any pictures probably?

I took the door off the cabinet behind the head and replaced it with stained plywood. The TV is now the door and out of the way. The cables run above the liner to the side rail to the corner cabinet.

It would really help if you said what size TV you're trying to install. The size of the TV will affect where it can be placed. Why is the power coming down the mast?? I can understand the aerial coax coming down the mast, but could you also route it another way.

If you set it up on the binnacle, you can invite neighboring crews to watch it with you.

If you use an articulating arm, you can mount the TV most anywhere you want. RCA makes a flat omni directional antenna (about $35-40) that will actually fit behind the TV when it is flat against the wall. These antennas can be passive (non-powered) so it is a little more economical when you are on the hook. We have had good luck with this setup. No real need to run an antenna wire up the stick.

I mounted a Toshiba 19" with built in DVD to the forward bulkhead - stern side. I punched a hole through the bulkhead behind the TV into the cabinet behind. Then, put in an outlet in the back of the cabinet tied into an inverter mounted behind the DC panel. Suppose you could get the antenna routed into that cabinet somehow as well.

Most newer Beneteaus have conduits that run through various parts of the boat. Mine is a 1996 and I have conduits from the chart table/ instrument panel into the engine compartment, base of the mast, and from the starboard to port side of the cabin.

Open up a few access panels around your interior and look for conduits. They will make running your wiring alot easier and help you decide where best to put the TV & associated wiring.

Or you can check your owners manual. Mine has a drawing showing all conduit locations.
