Catalina 320 chestertown
I recently purchased a TV for our Catalina 320, a 15" LCD. Anyway I wanted to put a hookup thru hull then run coax through the the boat for connecting to the TV. That way I don't have to drape coax all over the boat and have it in the way of going below etc. I am not very satisfied with what I have found to use as the thru hull. All the fixtures have phone connectors as well as TV connectors. This makes for a much larger connector than I had hoped for and the phone part just would not be used with the capability of cell phone these days. Not to mention these fixtures go upwards of 100 dollars and require a large hole to be cut into the stern. Anyone out there have a solution?

try this

i have the type of fitting that you are describing (with the telephone connection we do not use due to e-fax and cell phone). however, i was losing the signal more than i thought was usual and inspected the cable port. what i found was that the fitting is a long threaded conector that runs through the larger combination fitting. the long cable port has 2 nuts on either side (one on the outside of the combo fitting, and one on the inside of the combo fitting that is therefore inside the transom. i think if you can find a regular cable port that is similar, you could just drill a hole in the transom, put it through with nuts on either side, then cover with a smalll cowl type vent cover. it is just a thought.
